Chris Brogan: Why 78 is Better Than 878

It wasnt until I was back and looking at Ning with a SNO eye that I realised that Ning is offering me the platform that facebook wont. Its offering an RSS feeds for just about everything I am getting involved in on Ning. Anyway I always thought Soylent Green was People ? I do think though that those whom make the effort beyond the token button press are those who are contributing positively.

I actually joined Facebook a short while back and made fun of the whole concept (quietly in my mind) as it didn't fit who I am at all. However I only became active of FB after being invited to join your new group there. When you decided to make the move, I joined Ning, I'm always trying everything anyway. It matters little what software is used as long is it's used to do something good for someone.

It doesn't matter where we are, we could Hop (pun definately intended) from social net to social net, it doesn't matter. It's what all the great people contribute to each other and help out. Community is people!!!

Just curious, why did the group move to Ning? I saw something about a new google group, and now am kind of confused as to what's going on...
  • chrisbrogan · 2 years ago
Moved because Facebook has no RSS, because facebook TOS says they own everything we do there. No other reasons.

You're so right. Weigh the quality.

Careful, Professor. If it's all about the people and not the software then why worry about RSS at all? Communities can exist without feeds.
