Awesome. And how do we free ourselves from high-fructose corn syrup?

For me, the video cuts off as Clarence is describing the severed artery. I'd love to hear the end of the story - don't leave me hanging!

    Hi Chris,

I've been reading you for a few months now. I can't say that Clarence's material was all that good (although I stopped watching after about 4 minutes). Interestingly, I found your endorsement of him to be disingenuous. My spidey-sense tells me that he's a client of yours OR a very close friend that has pictures of you in a compromised position. Anyways, love the blog and really appreciate all the useful information for budding social marketers.

@niraj - wow, you caught me. Clarence pays me $25000 a week to promote him (or not).

Maybe you and I have a different taste in entertainment. I really like his storytelling. It feels real and comes from a really interesting voice. But then, I hang out with him from time to time, so maybe it's just the novelty of seeing his stories told on stage instead of in person.

If he has pictures of me in weird positions, I expect we'll all see them shortly.

Personally, I found the story telling not worth the payoff. You could see a lot of the jokes coming a mile away. Because you described him as brilliant and passionate I was expecting to see that in the video but was disappointed. Had you not described him this way, I would have checked out the video, come to the same conclusion, but wouldn't have left a comment. But I've seen a lot worse. There's no doubt if he sticks with it, he'll improve. Check out Louis CK in 2007 and now in 2009. The stories are similar, but the delivery, timing and the selling of his "why" shtick is so much better now than it was just 2 years ago. Hopefully Clarence can pull it off. I wish him luck.
