Too bad Dallas is not on Jet Blue's route - I would have pulled something together for you Chris. It was great meeting you at the Inbound Summit in May and I would REALLY like to hear you speak in person, again. I guess I will just have to travel to one of the other cities or see you in October at your event in Boston. The fall leaves should be turning at that point - right?

We thought this was absolutely brilliant and would have taken advantage of it had we not already bought plane tix for the couple of places we're traveling during that time period anyway. Would have been perfect for us, but we got the non-refundables via Travelocity.
We would definitely look into and likely take advantage of any offer like this in the future, especially if we had a little more advance notice of it.
I would have been all over this but they don't fly out of anywhere near me. I wish other companies did this. I think it would save the airline industry. Either that or have them fly out of more cities.
I would have organized something in Memphis, we had Sarah Lacy come through here and had a great turn out

I know I could get 100+ people for a book signing (and to buy your book) if you came to Chicago. There are plenty of popular B&Ns, especially the one in downtown Chicago on the DePaul University campus (where I am a grad. student). Not only would you get college students, but you'd get tons of people showing up and buying books from the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of companies in the Chicago Loop.

I bought it, it's worth it to me, but it doesn't include 1. hotel 2. car rental :)
I'm going to 15 cities, and it would have cost me well over 2 grand for flights alone, but I am now spending that on hotel stays. I opted out of sleeping in the rental car.

What's the suggested process for making it happen? Set it up with the bookstore first, then use their advertising channels, and find out what blogs to post on?
How do you get firm attendance numbers? Let's hear some ideas.

I'm not sure I can get 100 people to the event, but I'd join SBush1002 at the Chicago event and do what I could to spread the word. That B & N is a good location and I'd bet that there could be a lot of tie-in with your book and some classes at DePaul. Great idea to use the JetBlue Pass that way!

I work with Books-A-Million down here in Houston and even worked in the corporate headquarters in Birmingham. I'd arrange a 150-book signing party/meetup of like-minded individuals. Just say when and it'll happen.

I have the JetBlue pass too! I am working on a trip to visit some Steelers bars around the country! Not sure how the trip will look yet - but the pass seemed like a great way to go out and see the Pittsburgh community outside of Pittsburgh - the response thus far has been awesome - people keep sending in their favorite bars. While I will probably end up visiting some bigger cities - I would like to see some of the smaller ones too. If our travel pass cross I would love to meet up! Lindsay

Hey Chris - Here's an idea...I'll see if I can pull together a couple hundred folks down here in Puerto Rico to buy your book, especially since we are working to put together PodCamp PR.
However, I am going to recommend that instead of book signings, glad handing, etc...you bring your family along and just take a well-deserved vacation.
If you like, perhaps a barbecue on the beach for the purposes of community building could be organized.
