If I Were a Realtor
I'd love to tell you I could rally 100 people to the local B&N (actually, I think I could), but I'm about 2 hours away from the closest possible stop.
SF would be a slam dunk. Plus hotel rates are down in the $130/night range. I could probably hook you up at the W.

I see in the comments there are a couple other folks who want you in Dallas!!
Or I could pull together a caravan and we could drive to Austin. Let us know where you are going to be and we will be there!!

I am looking forward to reading the book.

We would definitely look into and likely take advantage of any offer like this in the future, especially if we had a little more advance notice of it.

I would have organized something in Memphis, we had Sarah Lacy come through here and had a great turn out
I'm going to 15 cities, and it would have cost me well over 2 grand for flights alone, but I am now spending that on hotel stays. I opted out of sleeping in the rental car.
What's the suggested process for making it happen? Set it up with the bookstore first, then use their advertising channels, and find out what blogs to post on?
How do you get firm attendance numbers? Let's hear some ideas.
I work with Books-A-Million down here in Houston and even worked in the corporate headquarters in Birmingham. I'd arrange a 150-book signing party/meetup of like-minded individuals. Just say when and it'll happen.
@mojodenbow
how can we make that happen? seems so reasonable and so of their already attempt at good customer service mindset. you'd think they'd want to promote you. how can we help that way?
You must come to Rochester, NY. It's a small city but very technical and Social Media savy. I'm sure you'll sell over 300 books here. You can count with my help to organize it. JetBlue comes to ROC so just let me know when you're available and we'll start rocking.
Still, I'll see you in October at either BWE or Izeafest, so I'll be sure to get mine signed there! Good luck with the book tour!!
If our travel pass cross I would love to meet up! Lindsay
In the mean time we're trying to do our part - jhr (Journalists for Human Rights) has added Trust Agents to our Amazon Bookstore: http://astore.amazon.ca/jhr-20/detail/0470743085
All affiliate profits from book sales support jhr's efforts in using the media to promote human rights globally.
Keep up the good work, Chris!
However, I am going to recommend that instead of book signings, glad handing, etc...you bring your family along and just take a well-deserved vacation.
If you like, perhaps a barbecue on the beach for the purposes of community building could be organized.
You're always welcome to visit Phoenix. We have a large geek and social media community here. Seriously. Not sure about buying hundreds of books, but I think connecting with you is always beneficial and helps strengthen our bonds as a budding tech startup hub.
Mad props if you could ever come down and drop in on a Gangplank brown-bag Wednesday. (http://gangplankhq.com) (http://gangplankhq.com/events/). You might get 100 book sales or so, I dunno.
