Thanks for the post Chris. ACTB was an amazing time, prompted by a bunch of friends who met on Seesmic and we've all become really close. While @tapps hosted the event, it was all of us who planned & made it happen. ACTB came from all the parties we've been having after the Podcamps. We decided we didn't need a podcamp to get together...we just wanted to be together. And we can thank @kspidel and @tapps for their avatar making goodness.

Our weekend was amazing. It was (half)-jokingly described as the "Woodstock of the Internet".
It wasn't about networking or marketing, it was about fortifying friendships between people who like to keep in contact via social media. We had amazing conversations that had nothing to do with the internet, there were no "sessions", and we all got to know one another as people. The first one was at my apartment in New York City, Tracy held the next one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the next one will be a gathering of people at SXSW.
We all pitched in, buying groceries, cleaning, baking, cooking, organizing field trips, etc. It was awesome. You should come!

Hey Chris! Very cool that #ACTB caught your attention. It was such an honor for me to attend (plans came through at the last minute). I am blown away and humbled by the strength of the community there. Before I became community manager for Seesmic.com I only knew Tracy (@tapps), but have grown to know and love everyone else through video conversations. Obviously, I am biased... but I cannot avoid or deny the fact that meeting those folks in the dead of winter in a little town called Milwaukee, was like a reunion with long lost friends.
And, as I said, on my way there,
Reason #237 why #ACTB folks are awesome: Not ONE would call themselves a 'social media expert'. But, every ONE could turn around any company.

ACTB was Great! it was definitely a fun and casual weekend, everyone were lay back, chatting here, chatting there, amazing group of people. Kudos to @tapps for pulling the event together for sure! would have be cool if you were there too :)

Angry Camp brought together a group of people who wanted to be with each other badly enough that they would travel from as far away as the UK; from places as warm as CA and FL and spend over 40 hours in a car traversing middle America. That's the power of @tapps - and the power of successful community building. Of course, there was the dancing.

#ACTB rocked my world - I've only been a part of Seesmic.com since September, so meeting a bunch of peopled I'd only known online was a bit out of my element. But, you know what? The second I walked through the door of the #tappsestate I knew I was with family. The second I walked out the door on Sunday night when everything was over and almost everyone was gone, my heart HURT.
To sum it up in one word, #ACTB was inspiring. Wish you (and everyone else) could've experienced it, too.

Wow - I love this sort of phenomenon. From a neuroscience perspective this is a great example of how a behavior spreads through a crowd of people - like a chant at a rock concert. I just wrote an extensive article examining this sort of thing about how information flows through social networks because of our nature to Follow the Herd in places like Digg and facebook etc.
In any event, ACTB looks like it was a lot of fun - will keep an eye out for this in the future.

i hope #ACTB inspires all sorts of other meetups where people come together for the sole purpose of being with friends... meeting new friends... and just having fun. it's the best part of *camp(s), hands down... so why couldn't it be the *whole* camp? and that's where #ACTB was born.
and thanks for this writeup. :-) we hope to make this an annual event... in addition to all the other stops on the angry camp world tour ( #ACWT ) :-)

Allow me to make broken record sounds and talk about how amazing @tapps has been at organizing, supporting, and hosting the living daylights out of such an amazing gathering. People go to parties. They have drinks. They talk and share stories and trip on the carpet and and get sick and play Rock Band and sometimes go home early. Now take all of that, add in the fact that everyone is extremely creative and involved with the online communities, discover they are all 20x better in person, and throw in six gallons of Awesome, arrange it in less than 20 minutes one day over Twitter, place it in the hands of @tapps, and you have #ACTB. You go there wondering what to expect and leave with a whole new family.

I disagree with everyone here. #ACTB was the worst because I wasn't there! Boo! I hate them all for having so much fun without me : (
But, in all seriousness, this whole weekend was nothing less of incredible. We got to sit back and watch it through Twitter and the Angry Camper Seesmic posts. I know of all these people simply through Seesmic, and they pretty much changed my life : )

The connective power of Twitter is pretty amazing.
I noticed lots of Tweets about Obama today (#inaug09) as I watched the Inauguration and did some rapid-posting.
Even inspired me to test the 'viral factor' myself by (shameless plug) giving away free Valentine's Day chocolate truffles: http://tinyurl.com/7o7rk3
