I was fortunate to help in a Mayan village in Belize with a group of nurses from OC, California.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Really help someone in needy is very soothing to the hearth, I really salute these organisations those who donate the money and shelter availability to the needy people and also try to provide education too.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

To really help someone in need is very soothing stove, I actually for these needy people who donated money and the availability of shelter and education organization seeks to salute.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

www.osmanoğlunakliyat.com.tr

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

skip1.org is truly awesome. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) have been doing it for many years. The first Sunday of every month they do a 24 hour fast, and donate the money they would have spent on food. It's called a "Fast Offering". Then that money is used to help those in need in the local congregations and for humanitarian needs around the world.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Thanks Chris for doing the hard work for me once again. I've been mentioning Skip.1 lately since my first introduction to it by you, but I never feel that I nail it when trying to articulate to others. You just did it and now I'll pass this along.

Lois

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Really help someone in needy is very soothing to the hearth, I really salute these organisations those who donate the money and shelter availability to the needy people and also try to provide education too.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Chris,
One thousand thank you's for this. I think that what Skip1 needs to do to really make this initiative known is to make a video with more viral potential. As a public relations student, I can see Skip1 really taking off with the right PR help from some interns looking to get some non-profit experience.

Chris, thank you for creating some awareness for this great cause!

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Great idea! I just donated. Reminds me of ModestNeeds.org. This is where social media really shines. When communities of people band together and make small waves with big ripples.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Derek, when money isn't there, the power of spreading the word makes up for it ten-fold. SO you helped a ton. Thanks for the post you wrote. Skip1 is close to my heart, and I am in awe of InvisiblePeople. Keep up the good work.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Chris you rock! In Haiti, I saw for myself how little it takes to feed a child. I also saw things that I can't describe. But they can get better. Your effort to spread the simple message of Skip1 goes way beyond day-to-day business. You get it. We all see it. Kids are getting fed right now thanks to this one simple blog post. (BTW Drew, Shelene, Blake and the gang rock too!)

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

Chris,

How could you ask such a thing as "if it makes sense?" in your blog post :). I hope loads of people get behind this initiative. I feel very aware that I don't pay a lot of attention towards these types of initiatives sometimes and yet I feel compelled towards helping where I can in every day life :).

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention :). Best of luck to those at Skip1 with their cause :)

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

sorry I meant "doesnt" in the last post ....

www.paulpolak.com

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

If you really want to do some good check out paulpolak.com

Giving out a free snack once in a while does deal with the problem of getting people out of poverty by helping them earn alittle more money or grow their own food - free handouts have proven not to work but are useful post disaster eg flood/hurricane.

Re: Skip1 and Simple Cause Giving

skip1.org is a great way to notice that you can give up certain things and donate that money to help out children in need. The only problem for me is that I am skipping certain things because I need to cut back on my finances.
So, as soon as I get my finances up to par I will be more than happy to skip for these children.
I actually wrote an article about skip1.org (along with InvisiblePeople) on my blog after I watched a video from Chris's Overnight Success series.

http://www.lifenotion.com/2...
