I do appreciate your urge to check out ideas' origins - I try to do the same, ideally going to first sources if possible. At least you got an answer. I tried to track down where the idea came up in one of Des Paroz's podcasts, but failed:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;In the 3/22 podcast someone mentioned an evolutionary biologist who believes one of the causes of depression/anxiety today is the fact that we have so many more decisions to make than our brains are capable of making.
