This is a great concept. I seem to remember David saying that they could also post the videos from Sharing Hope to other sites like Facebook and the like. Great idea.

Thanks for the props. Giant scary robots aside I hope we cross paths again. I also hope all the peeps on your site take a look at our community and send suggestion. I need feedback! Adams right, any video can be taken off our site and put on facebook, myspace and any Blog.

This is such an uplifting campaign and idea by the folks at ACS to help truly empower their constituents! It's always nice to see examples of digital and social media used to further great causes. And what a great idea to not only allow others to upload these videos, but to also post them to other sites. Best of luck to you David!

As a cancer survivor, I can only imagine what today's web tools and resources could have done for me 17 years ago. This is AWESOME stuff!! What a great way to show what cancer is really like - there are unbelievable stories out there to share. Way to go ACS!

Thanks Chris. We have two family members and a dear friend in the hospital battling cancer right now. My wife asked me last night, "why does it seem like everyone is suffering with cancer?" I just really wonder what happens to the millions and millions of dollars that go into cancer R&D, doesn't it seem like we should have better detection & drugs at this point.

Something just doesn't seem right....anyway, thanks for sharing this. I am taking my uncle a Lance Armstrong wristband today, it's the little things.

This is SO awesome. So often, people (and, unfortunately, many nonprofits) use fear & despair to motivate, when, IMHO, stories of hope are vastly more inspiring. And the tools that support it are pure genius - congrats Dave! Have you approached Moby to use the works from mobygratis.com?

If you like this, you'll love Trusera.com

The move towards using story and community online to support people going through tough times with hope and shared experience is a great use of online networks and community. I can't wait to see more uses like this popping up!!

Another similar sharing site is www.caringbridge.com, which offers free sites for people (not just with cancer) to post updates, receive guestbook notices, etc. Doesn't seem that they've branched into the video portion, but do offer photo uploads. Good use of social networks and social media during very difficult times. Thanks for passing along.
