Arrr, matey. I'm sure I don't need to say it, but we'd love to work with you on bootcamp events in Pittsburgh. And feel free to tap me personally for any pirating.

Chris: The consulting arm seems like a logical step to me. Who knows more about social networking than you do. You are probably so immersed in it, that you don't have a sense of how valuable your knowledge is, but you have to figure there are plenty of companies that want to adopt Web 2.0, but don't have a clue where to start. You can share what you know and make a nice living at it too.
Good luck with the venture. I honestly can't think of anyone better suited to the job than you.
Awesome Chris! Don't forget to bring a real pirate expert along for the ride. I'll suggest @petermello for leadership piracy.

Brilliant Chris! Entrepreneurship is the foundation of our democracy and capitalism, it ain't perfect, but it's the best thing the world has had so far...glad you're taking the leap even in a challenging economic climate; perhaps its the best time for Social Media? I think so. You'll do aces.

Ahoy Matey,
Congrats on the bold move. I can't wait for the juicy details. Looking forward to our interview for InspireMeToday.com. You continue to inspire all of us Chris, thanks. If you ever decide you want to sail on a real pirate ship, our sailboat, Abundance, awaits you. We're always looking for fun crew to plunder our way through the Caribbean. Arrrgh. :)
Congratulations on your new journey and the challenges you will seek. The timing couldn't be better, it's very obvious that status quo marketing is losing ground, and new ways of connecting will be needed by the survivors.

If you're ever in need of a cook on this ship you know who to call. Also, I can navigate a ship by the stars, and shoot a gun, and have some sword experience, and have can wield a mean camera.... some of those statements were true.

Hi Chris,
I'll avoid the pirate puns, not being able to outwit (literally) any of your previous commenters!
Just wanted to say congratulations on what seems like a smart and logical move.
It seems your new agency overlaps a lot of my interests, personal and professional, so I'd welcome networking with you some time. (@rharris on Twitter)

How exciting and brave to leap.. if it expands your ability to work with more people and more companies then this is REALLY fantastic for all of us. If my company ever lends me their ear for a social media strategy, hiring you would be one of the first things out of my mouth.
I wish you all the best and look forward to reading more about how it's all going for you. For now, I'm just slowly crafting my dinghy using some of your tools...

Man, you took "Talk Like a Pirate" day seriously. Congrats Chris. I am soooo stoked about this because it's something I want to do as well with Bizzuka's backing. (Much smaller scale and to the SMB market, but concept is similar.) Now if I could just the CEO's buy-in... :-)

Very cool - you don't know me but have done so much to inspire my social media efforts - especially what to do / what not to do. Your personal branding guide is doing much to inspire my wife - a mortgage broker - to continue persevering in one of her toughest years to date. In short - your mission to "Be Helpful" is spot on.
