Good on you, Chris :)

It's been funny in our house of late. Things are a bit tight, and my two boys hear "no" more than they ever have in their lives. But that hasn't kept them from wanting to reach out to others. tonight, we dropped off donations at a local grocery store for its present drive, and it was all my 5-year-old's idea to do it. And if he read the Toys for Tots post, he'd be all over me to make this donation, too.
So to prevent a persistent little 5-year-old from nagging incessantly about the need to help make sure other kids have toys, we'll donate our lattes. Actually, we make our lattes at home now, so the contribution will be a smidge more than they cost us.
Don't let the holiday giving end here!!

I am not sure why you have the blues during this holiday season...I hope as Christmas Day draws nearer you will find within yourself a greater sense of peace... Even catch yourself smiling more. =)
My Father passed away (2) years ago on December 25th. So there is a bit of sadness that creeps in frequently during a day's time.
Even so, am making a donation in the spirit of giving and also in memory of my Dad. I wish you and your family all things, bright, beautiful and of Godly intent.
Merry Christmas,
Be Blessed!
Well done Chris, you deserve a huge round of applause.
Over the past 6 months or so I have become intrigued and interested in how social media can be used to help non-profits or just people that can really use a little bit of help. I'm looking forward to exploring this more in '09 as well doing some things like this. It is important during Christmas time but the goal is to not forget that these same people (and many millions other) are struggling the other 364 days as well.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for all you do - you are a great example to thousands.

It doesn't matter if a person can contribute $5 or $5000. All that matters is if they made a genuine effort.
I know we are all facing economic trials. A person should not be down on themselves if they cannot give financially because there are always different ways to give.
Random acts of kindness to not always involve monetary contributions. I know there are lots of local organization that can use a few good volunteers this holiday season.
So if you don't have it in your wallets or checking account, dig deep in your heart and give your time to a worthy cause.

Thank you for inspiring me to try and raise money for the fundraiser I have every year. With Christmas so close, and no donations coming in, I wasn't sure what to do until I saw you on Twitter. You are always inspiring me to be a better person and to use social media to empower myself and others.
I always try to give others with Muscular Dystrophy a good Christmas. As someone raised with a form of MD, I know, first hand, what it's like to have financial struggles happening around Christmas due to medical expenses, so I don't want these kids or their parents to have to worry.
Thanks to you, we've raised $150. We only have $350 more to go!
If anyone would like to help out by donating $5 or $10, please visit: http://tinyurl.com/3rda28
I no longer feel like such a grinch!
Thanks,
John
I can't believe you sold your reputation for, uh, wait a second...Great job, Chris :-)
I'm in.
I'll be donating my $10 and if anyone wishes to keep this goodwill going, please feel free to have a look at the 12for12K Challenge happening next year:

Sorry for the shameless plug, but it's for a great cause that could potentially change millions of lives in 2009.
Thanks, and a wonderful Christmas and New Year to all.
