Spam is a Perception- Mine
I just bought the Thesis theme on 'Black Friday' when it was 20% off (thanks Chris Pearson!) and installed it on my 3 sites.
No time to customize them yet like you've done Chris, but I am studying up!

I've been considering a changeover to Thesis as well. Any thoughts on viewer culture shock when they see a new design and their comfy old site is gone?
Cheers
George
I love how clean, simple and easy to navigate the new site is. That said, I miss the color scheme that you used in the old design. Those colors were more inviting. These colors seem sort of sterile or something. Either way, it's your content that really matters, and this does make accessing it better. Overall, great new design!
I have to think about how one might transition. My first answer is just a simple blog post.
I went to Six Pixels...
That is one Ka-Pow! comment section. Very cool.
I imagine a simple blog post alerting the readership to the upcoming change would be pretty effective. I was thinking wouldn't it be cool if there was an ap that could sense a returning visitor and the first time they come to the newly designed site they saw the old design initially and then the page morphed/transitioned into the new design.
Wish I knew something about computers... ;-)
Cheers
George
Thesis is pretty amazing, their typography choices really do make the site easier to read. Kudos to them.
Love how Chris modified this theme for you. The thesis support forums are also great and makes it easy to learn how to setup your own site with thesis.
The site linked to my name is also running thesis. Come take a look.
Grats on the new site - looks great.
Any thoughts from you, or any other commenter, on Thesis versus iThemes Flex as far as which offer the most, and easiest, user customization?
Very clean -- easy to read. But you need to have your graphics resized to fit the new theme (you're stretching them where they don't want to go right now;)
Do you know how easy/difficult it is to port from blogger to a Wordpress Theme?

Thanks for the cool post on Thesis.
I am told my blog looks clean, approachable and professional and is easy on the eye with the more-white-than-write.

The new design is definitely easy on the eye. Nice work.
I'm currently using SimpleBalance 2.0 whilst I work on a skin for Sandbox. Thesis does seem to be a great choice for those that don't want to spend ages tinkering under the hood. For me though, I'm using WordPress theme hacking to learn PHP ;)
Chris, what specific *functional* (as opposed to design or visual) considerations led you to choose the Thesis theme? TIA for sharing with us.
Now I have the exciting task of porting my more content-heavy site over. For some reason, that task is a bit daunting, because I think it really could use some overall rebranding.
The idea of being able to play with thesis and customize it makes it a fun project, however!
Two more things about thesis:
1 - The DIYThemes forum rocks. Rick, Jen, Kristarella, PhoenixGuy and IndianGuru are very helpful.
2 - Thesis 1.3.2 has hooks, which means that anyone (even Grandma) can create awesome looking blogs.

Meg is using Thesis on a project for me, so I understand the hoopla...I just liked the look of your previous site better.

Site looks great Chris.
I'm using one of Chris Pearson's themes myself, and I keep wanting to take the plunge and move to Thesis based on all the positive buzz it's getting. Maybe for Christmas, I'll treat myself.
Does having a new design feel like getting a new car or moving into a new place? I feel like I'd keep going to my home page just to look at it!
(btw I covet thesis! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy and try to merge my current design with it!!!)
Although I have to say, the last design was pretty nice too ;)
My site is at Oktober5.com, and I just released a plugin specifically for Thesis users that creates a visual recent posts section with thumbnails, title and excerpt (if you want).
Are there other behind-the-scenes benefits to using the Thesis theme? Maybe Chris Pearson can chime in on this front. I'm on the lookout for a good theme for an upcoming work project, so I'm all ears ... or, uhm, eyes!
And as a guy who reads you almost exclusively in Google Reader, I personally won't fret either way over your design choice! I read you because the content is good.

Thanks for mentioning the WeFixWP team in your post! We are always happy to help you with any and all WordPress issues that you have. Enjoy your new theme.

I've been running on thesis for almost 2 months now and I'm over satisfied with it. Flexible yet simple.
I love the new look and its' making me want to try Thesis myself. My only complaint is that your site's favicon is outdated and ought to be brought in line with the new color scheme.
Keep up the good work!
Great job man! Once I'm profitable I have a site I'd like to base the theme upon.

As far as lay-out, I think it really works and connects (the fonts are great!...especially on the "Contact Me" page which I think is particularly important for you since you set sail on your new pirate ship "New Marketing Labs." Not that people wouldn't contact you otherwise, I'm just saying it's crisp, stands out and makes it easy for people to want to contact you). The cool lay-out of the comments section makes it cool for us (your readers) to see who else is hanging around and sharing in all that you dish out.
Anyway, enough rambling...just wanted to tell you that I dig it!
I've been a big fan of the Thesis theme after seeing it on various blogs. If only the college student budget would allow for it. :)
I migrated ariwriter.com from Blogger to Wordpress in early October; and upgraded to the Thesis theme the first week of November. There were many reasons why, namely wanting a minimalist theme without hacking the code and using a gazillion plugins and something that was SEO-friendly and neat. I followed the advice and inspiration of Justin Levy of primecutsblog.com, Writer Dad Sean Platt, and Phoenix Real Estate Guy Jay Thompson, all of whose blogs previously used Thesis.
Granted, I don't have Chris Pearson or other developers help me. My blog is a product of my sweat and tears, and every visitor, reader, and commenter has mentioned they enjoy the clean and bold feel of the blog and how my personality shines through. Thesis makes my personality all the more crisper.
If you run across any questions, Chris, let me know.
This post is very timely. I registered 2 new domains names recently and I want to create them using Wordpress. I've been searching around for a couple of eye-catching Wordpress optimised themes.
These are the sites I have narrowed it down to:
www.revolutiontwo.com
www.solostream.com
The Wordpress themes on these sites look really impressive. I now have another choice...THESIS! - these look great too!
Also, Jeff Johnson from www.undergroundtraininglab.com sent me an email last week inviting me to download a free SEO Wordpress theme that he's created. It never expires, I can use it on as many sites as I like and it's mine to keep. Apparently it's a search engine magnet.
I've got some serious thinking to do.
Have a Great Day and Thank You for always providing great information.

Looking at your rss and other icons up top makes me want to do more! I love the font you've selected and the background color in the sidebars adds just the right touch with your background - very handsome!
Good work!
Looks great though. CP definitely does some great work.
I personally love the links in the footer. Nice touch.
Yours looks great here, Chris - nicely done!!
Take a look and tell me what you think.
P.S. I'd be MOST interested in learning how you added a "top" sidebar above your two right sidebars, and a "bottom" sidebar at the very foot. Tips?
-Bill
But dang, the Thesis affiliate link to word count ratio in this post is insane, lol.
