Chris Brogan: My Next 100 Posts

Cool, I think this is awesome.

There are a couple of things I've been thinking about lately, actually, and would love to hear your thoughts.

Firstly is how you go about building conversations and community. I know this is quite a vague topic, but especially after listening to episode 79 of Six Pixels of Separation, it really got me thinking. How do you get comments and build a community around your blog?

Second question is how you balance the personal and 'professional' parts of your life in your online brand. Personally, for my blog, I won't want it to become too much of a personal diary. But at the same time, I want it to be real, and not become too much like a magazine/newspaper column. So how do you balance that?

Hope you get where I'm coming from. =).

    Nice Idea,
I'm waiting for your thoughts on everything and specially about a social and community network of people united for a healthy and specific goal:as quite smoking for example.
would that work? instead of the reward of any community online (avoid loneliness and boredom...) the reward is you healthier...
I'm developing a site with that purpose right know...

We're BOTH going to be having fun - coz just yesterday, I spent 2 hours jotting down notes for 32 'pillar' articles on my blog's new theme - 'Blogging for Influence and Attention'.

Looking forward to writing and reading a lot in December :)

    All success

It sounds like we can expect a great series of posts in coming weeks. I would like to see some entries dedicated to discussing how B2B companies can use social media and social networks.

Wow! 100 posts from Chris Brogan on helping you grow the value of your social media and social networking efforts? It's like winning the lottery!

As you're compiling post ideas, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how social media sites are more valuable when working with one another, as opposed to competing for market share. Obviously, the ability to add and develop applications keeps Facebook relevant and means that everyday there are great new features. I can import my RSS feed, Flickr, draw data from my website, even open my MySpace profile within Facebook.

Moving forward, do you feel that 3rd party applications working within popular social networks will become as common place and necessary as a company website is now? If so, what makes a good social media application? Is it enough to create something that engages conversation, or should it serve some sort of mechanical purpose, as well?

    As always, you rock!

    Chris,

Great idea for a series! My audience is small to medium-size independent retailers. I'd love to see something on how a small business can use social media. I've written several "generic" posts on the topic, but I'm having a hard time finding specifics.

    Keep up the good work.

Thank you so very much for this effort. I have been asking for a few months "where's the ROI with SMO?" I will share this with a friend in marketing that has just discovered all of this.
