As a reader, I enjoyed this post. I feel the love. : )

Hope the email universe treats you kindly.

Melody Platz
www.melodythehappywanderer.com

Re: My Letter Policy- Circa 2008

Best of luck getting out of the muck of all that email--it happens to the best of us. I think it surprised some of your writers that you'd write this, since you *are* the best of us when it comes to writing back.

Anyhow, you'll get out of your ditch soon. Someday I look forward to a post about the mixed blessing about being a thought leader...

And Kat, way to lay the smack down. Yes, we all are ADD...

Re: My Letter Policy- Circa 2008

call my house after 7 pm at night
and i'll give someone an unsettling feeling
if he'd let me near the phone
which he doesn't
i answered once during bedtime
Jeff Pulver never messed with me again :)

the point relates how?
if he doesn't get back in email enough they call
"they" being fine folks
with no sense of impulse control
are you all ADD?

Re: My Letter Policy- Circa 2008

I was already shocked and amazed you took the time to not only respond to an email I sent you (within a very short time, I might add) but I am now even more honoured that you also gave me your number with an open invitation to call and discuss further. You're a superstar and people know it. That's why the demand ;) Keep up every wonderful thing you're doing... you are impacting a lot of people in a very positive way. A rare and true gem.

Re: My Letter Policy- Circa 2008

There is something unsettling about this post and I don't quite know what it is. I can completely understand the fact that Chris's inbox would be rather packed, especially with 8782 readers. This post just left me feeling like I should avoid reaching out because I will just fall into a pit of endless e-mails only to be ignored... even if unintentionally.

Chris -

A suggestion about e-mail organization...

Download a contact form plug-in for wordpress (I use secure-contact) and tweek the subject to be a drop down. Then you can have the subjects categorized into what you frequently get e-mailed about. I.E. questions about social media, I've got a new blog, Fantastic Widget Announcement, I just wanted to tell you how cool you are, etc.

Then, at least you can filter through e-mails that don't need responses.

As for me... I'll just keep reading and commenting on your blog :).

Re: My Letter Policy- Circa 2008

The "email bankruptcy" problem requires a 700 billion unread emails bailout! :-)

Re: My Letter Policy- Circa 2008

People would need to understand Chris' situation. He gets information overload at times. I guess its fair to wait for a response. If he does not, as he said, send him back a reminder after a week or so. Im sure it will get his reply back.

I personally have mailed Chris a couple of times. He responses like a perfect gentlemen. Give him some time to reply to you.
