We using the system on our hockey drill site. We have found the coaches enjoy using it to interact with other coaches on the site. The information exchange is great for hockey training and player development.

Chris, I'm relatively new to Wordpress and I don't understand either of your two points for moving to an independent commenting platform, flexibility or searchability.

You say "The tools allow
users and me to do more with commenting." In what way?

You also say the tools "make it much
easier to search the comments and for the comments to be found floating
out on other platforms for better discovery." Again, I don't understand what you mean.

I am sure your points are valid, or you would not bothered to have made the switch, but can you clarify them a bit?

Interesting. I am also trying to decide whether I should cross-over to Disqus or not. If there is a way to move your comments to Disqus, is it also possible to move it back along with the comments posted through Disqus should I happen to change my mind?

sooner or later DISQUS, Gravatar and all other comment systems are going to be replaced by Facebook. Market consolidation will always happen in a mature market and I believe comments market is now mature!

Been using Disqus myself for ages, nearly from the time it came out.

BTW the comment is not for Disqus. I was searching for Thesis theme and your site came up. Just starting out with Thesis myself.

It says it imported my comments but none of them show up on the pages :-/ thankfuly I only had about 30 when I switched.

I am just having one problem though with the implementation - some of my posts have disqus comments and others do not at all. If there is any advice you have or error I made, if you could help I would really appreciate it!

For example, this one has comments: http://healthandwellnessnew...

and this one doesn't http://healthandwellnessnew...

Seems like a good decision. I've noticed some downtime once in a while but they're pushing the product forward quite nicely. Lots of movement in this space recently and several acquisitions.
