Awesome bag! Don't persuade me to buy.

I LOVE that bag! I had never heard of this company before. Checked it out. Now I'm set with my husband's gift (VertiGo), brother's (DS Lite Case), and mom's (camera case). Thanks for the tip! Now I just need ideas for my techno-phobic dad....

    Chris -

I thought I would pass along another recommendation for those that are looking for a rugged / historical look (tin cloth and bridle leather).

The Filson bags are built tough. I recommend a thin computer sleeve as the old school metal zippers can scratch your laptop on insert and removal. They are still made in Seattle as well!

Really glad you're liking the bag, Chris! And to echo your opinion for those reading this, I've had two of their bags for a couple years now and they still work and look great : ).

I spent a long, long time searching for a new, more ergonomic laptop back earlier this year and I heard nothing but good stuff about Waterfield, their bags and their service.

In the end I went with a Crumpler belly rucksack which has loads of room for all the stuff I need to take me and incorporates a vertical laptop sleeve which sits right against your back and is really comfortable. You've just reminded me again about the Vertigo though - it's so tempting to get one for shorter trips!

I bought my first SFbag in 2002 for my then new iBook and then another one at work for my titanium Powerbook. These bags designed for bike messengers had the best padding and zippers of any I have seen, and seemed like they could survive some major mishaps.

but the most over the top thing has getting a personal note written by Gary on the invoice and a followup email from him, not some vague "sales@xxxxx.com address. That personal touch was a ray of bright sunshine in customer feel good.

The only reason I switched ti a Timbuk2 was all the other crap I now have to carry.
