Chris Brogan: Human Experiences

I have been debating for years whether to try stand up or not. When telling jokes I always try to relate to life situations we've all been through. When I think I have a good one and no one laughs, I get confused. Was the joke bad or are people just that used to me?

I've been trying to make vlogs using sort of a stand up comic approach. I got some people telling me that what I thought was funny was actually thought provoking. That made me happy enough =0)

This is what communication is all about at its heart- empathy. Not sympathy, but empathy- putting yourself into another's shoes- things that ring true. Hence a recent post on GNM Parents- My Life as Marsha Brady- we all have crazy moments, leaving us feeling like sit com characters, or at least I do.

On the opposite side of the equation... comedy (and life) is math.
