The same day you wrote this my boss had sat us all down and asked us to review the 7 Habits and think about how we can spend our time differently. This post will help me think about it. You're an angel.

Re: Alignment Management Not Time Management

Wow, lots of great points in there.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the "roles" thing... it makes solid sense, but defining and separating all those aspects of life feels a little crazy-making. After all, it's still you doing all those things, right? How do the various roles interact and get managed? Definitely curious...

The "front-loading" and "values" pieces are right on, though, imho.

Re: Alignment Management Not Time Management

The quadrant motivates me to do more "important not urgent" things -- that's got to be the key to serenity, quality of life. His tricks for keeping the mind clear by saving information elsewhere, in a system with sharp edges, is like boots-on-the-ground Zen. His web home is www.davidco.com . Highly recommended!

Re: Alignment Management Not Time Management

thank you.

Re: Alignment Management Not Time Management

I would strongly recommend checking out the Zen Habits blog at http://zenhabits.net and Leo's Zen to Done version of GTD on there.

I recently discovered bith and posted about them on my blog.

- Neil.
