(and by "fun", I mean "The hell...?") You are a nut. I feel you on the treadmill, though. I think the longest I've done on one is 5 miles, and that was like pulling teeth. Um, thankfully no chafing that I know of. And, from the description, I'm guessing I would have known!

Re: 8 Miles (not 10)

I would like to second that motion - Chris is crazy.

I cannot officially comment about Chris's craziness because he is going to be running 20 f-ing miles and I am not. I just wish I could be there to see the race officials yelling "Hey buddy! You're all done! Come back here!"

Just be careful, Chris. The 20 miler is a big one for your training. Don't go hurting yourself now. And don't forget to wear your body-glide! And the band-aids!

TV's at the gym have cool shows like the nightime soap opera about witches and vampires in love. (Jon doesn't have a TV, y'know)

Re: 8 Miles (not 10)

You could break a bank window, or steal a car, or streak (reduce chafing) before you hit the trail, then you could watch a very exciting episode of COPS.

Re: 8 Miles (not 10)

Seriously Chris, you are amazing. A 4-mile race and then 16 on top of that? Wow. I'll be thinking of you on Sunday, as I run my marathon in Lowell! -Dani, http://manyfires.diaryland.com

Re: 8 Miles (not 10)

I think you just might be crazy. A race and another 16 miles in one day?

Hey, look at the bright side, when you are running on a trail, you could always start singing the COPS theme song, just so you don't feel like you're missing out on watching it on tv. Plus the running might make you feel like you're really in the action. Ok, lame I know but what can I say.

Re: 8 Miles (not 10)

I knew that there had to be something good about trail running... ;-) Then again, I'm peeved because the TV over my office treadmill gets hotel-cable rather than regular cable, and therefore doesn't include comedy central, so I'm not much of one to talk.
