I'm also loving Adam Cohen's blog, A Thousand Cuts. He's newish, but he's got his feet on the ground and his head in the game. I can't wait to see what he comes up with this year.
Thanks for including me, too. I enjoy the challenge of my blog, and I'd probably be writing it even if no one was listening. But this year, I've got a new fire lit under me, so look the hell out. Cheers. :)
I rarely say anything negative about anyone or offer anything but positive feedback, however there is a glaring omission in this list. Basically, when I write about other people work, if I can't say something good, I just don't mention the art show, book, video, etc. I am rotten at false flattery.
However, I must protest a glaring omission in this blog article..
It concerns a blogger I follow for advice, inspiration and ideas of how to get my visual and inspirational message out effectively. This blogger not only gives good advice but consistently demonstrates how to reach people. I like to follow people who are examples.
Who is this?
YOU!
Following you has impacted my thinking more than anyone in my now all of four weeks since I became active on Twitter.
I watch how you interact. You are amazingly generous.
I follow many of your links, which are usually helpful.
One resulted in good PR for me from Highlights for Children, because I really was (and am) a Highlights kid. Their visual puzzle searches had an impact on the Visual Exercise/Experiences that I developed for the Art of Seeing The Divine e books. I suppose it helped me visualize the world in a new way and in a way led to my painting using symbols of strokes. But, I never would have known about the opportunity to promote Highlights, give back and also get PR, without your helpful Twitter of the link. Thanks.
I will check out the helpful recommendations and links in this blog. I am sure I will earn more as I have come to trust you.
So thanks for this blog. And thanks for being you!
Your fan,
Judy Rey Wasserman

These are indeed the voices I, too, love reading. They energize, inspire, and get me thinking. I know, they're dangerous in the best way. All of us make each other a little better as we listen, think, have ideas, put 'em out there, and see what comes home. Without a group like these we'd not grow nearly so ...
Smiling at you!

Thank you from the heart for including me in your list - coming from someone who I respect immensely and is a great focal point for all that is right in social media, it's truly a honor.
I can only hope that I do indeed step up to the mark and write the stuff that makes both me and my readers think - and if I fail anywhere, I look forward to you and others kicking my backside and telling me where! :)
There are some blogs I wasn't aware of so thank you for expanding my knowledge base as well - always the best way to learn an improve.
I'd suggest anyone check out Dave Fleet over at http://davefleet.com - always has great insights and is one of my regular haunts.
Thanks again, Chris - now the real fun begins... ;-)
I'd add Jacob Morgan to the list. Very consistent. Prolific. Makes you think. http://www.jmorganmarketing.com
I also second the nomination from Connie for Beth's blog. It's rock solid.
Now, you've given me a goal for 2009...make that list.
On that thought, why not share some criteria so we know what we're being judged against? Of course, we may decide we don't care at that point ;-)
Happy Holidays
Here is a blog for those of you who want to keep up with all things related to the world of Franchise Ownership....Trends, Tips, Myths, and News. {Ok. Opinion, too!}

Thank you, Chris.

Reading some of the posts, I thought I would share my blog too! vik duggal - my turn to talk.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share. Happy Holidays!
I added the blogs to my PDA calendar, so an alarm goes off that I need to be reading them in 2009!
Thanks for all you have done for a newbie to this space. My video production work is still free, in exchange for entry into cool places and networking with guru's.
Happy safe healthy Christmas and New Years to you and your family, thank them for sharing so much of your time with us, it is appreciated.
Respectfully,
Nicholas Chase

He's an FH colleague now, but I was an avid reader well before I joined the team. Check him out - though, he's on a bit of a hiatus at the moment.

Happy Holidays to everyone.
Thanks. And thanks for pointing to the other great bloggers on the list. Beth Harte, Jay Baer and Michael Glass should be on your list, too, by the way. My two cents.
Love that there is an OPML file so I could add everyone here in one fell swoop. Very handy.
Thanks for the inclusion. You've made 2008 a fun year and I can't wait till 2009.
I'll be checking each and everyone of your up & comers tonight. I read Blogging Heroes earlier this year and was a bit surprised about the consistency in the volume of blogs read by the top guys. All read about 200 daily.

I would recommend that people add Chris Garrett's blog http://www.chrisg.com As you may know, he co-authored "ProBlogger" with Darren Rowse.
John
I also echo the sentiments of Connie and mention Beth Harte (The Harte of Marketing) as someone to definitely watch in 2009, if you haven't already in '08. Great stuff that will get you thinking.
They don't post very often (once a week or less) but their articles are important. Some writers serve you up useful tips and tactics. These guys give you real food for thought.
All the best,
Simon
Best,
Todd
Thanks again Chris. I'm very honored to be on this list, in such great company. No pressure though, right?
I read Shannon and Jason and Micah regularly. I'll definitely start reading the others.
Some of my consistent favorite marketing bloggers are Dave Fleet (http://www.davefleet.com) and Kyle Flaherty (http://www.engageinpr.com). I learn so much from them, so I definitely recommend folks subscribing there, too.
Keep on keeping on :)

As you can see, I am way to verbose to be contained in a comments section. :P
Great list!

Thanks Chris for the holiday awesomesauce. ;)
@Chris - Danny and I are actually the same person - notice how we're never in the same place at the same time? I just praised myself, in fact.
I'll also especially second Feeds as a great site to watch - Jennifer has sparked several posts from me over the last few months. Always a good thoughtful read. "Grandpa Defren" continues to inspire too, as always.
Great write up.
Thx.

Great list. I have been reading some of those that you have listed, but I have a lot more that I need to add to my list. It has been a challenge, but I have now gotten into the habit of adding a post daily to my marketing blog.
I'd love to hear your comments. www.joelwarady.typepad.com

Beth Harte (The Harte of Marketing)
An Bui (An With 1 N)
Brains on Fire
CK's Blog
Katie Chatfield (Get Shouty)
Chris Thilk (Movie Marketing Madness)
Lisa Hartmann (New Media Lisa)
Gavin Heaton (Servant of Chaos)
Pat Coyle (Sports Marketing 2.0)
My personal favorites include Jason Falls, Beth Harte, Amber Naslund, Shannon Paul, Jason Baer, Brian Solis, Mack Collier, Jeremiah Owyang, David Armano, Charlene Li, and Liz Strauss. I hope to meet as many of these smart, inspirational people as possible at SxSW in March.
One blog I read that might be interesting to those with an ad agency or branding background would be Smoke and Meers by Sam Meers (http://smokeandmeers.blogspot.com). Sam has an intriguing writing style that is only surpassed by his branding insight. His writing and tweets aren't necessarily as voluminous as some others, but I suspect that's b/c he's deeply engaged in client work.
Lastly, this post of yours is even stronger evidence of your community building and generous nature. Thank you for casting the light on so many others.
