Great post Chris! I appreciate these comprehensive lists with practical advice. Very helpful indeed.

I've been researching ways to increase blog traffic and most say you shouldn't submit your own articles to Digg. I'd like to hear what others have to say on the topic, is it okay to submit your own posts to social bookmarking sites?

Surely the best way to do this is to (as you have pointed out) make your content top notch!! If you have great content that people can learn something from every time they visit then they will keep coming back. I do agree with the goal setting - short, medium and long term goals are a fantastic way of motivating you.
